Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran is an Engilsh singer songwriter, beatboxer and guitarist who's eclectic blend of acoustic pop, folk, and hip-hop has been championed by everyone from the underground grime scene to American Oscar winners.

Born in Halifax, West Yorkshire in 1991, Sheeran learned guitar at a very young age and began writing songs during his time at high school. Sheeran began recording in 2005, which led to the release of his first EP, The Orange Room EP. Sheeran also released 2 albums, a self-titled one in 2006 and Want Some? in 2007.

He moved to London in 2008 to play gigs, starting off in very small venues, playing every day, to as little as five people. His performance of the self-penned "You Need Me, I Don't Need You" on YouTube channel SB.tv gained half a million viewers and attracted the attention of actor/R&B star Jamie Foxx, who invited him to appear on his Los Angeles Sirius radio show.Throughout 2010, Sheeran began to be seen by more and more people over the internet through YouTube and his fan-base grew incredibly, with him also getting credit from The Independent newspaper, England football captain Rio Ferdinand and even Elton John.

On 9 January 2011, Sheeran released his final independent EP, No.5 Collaborations Project featuring appearances by grime artists including Wiley, JME, Devlin and Ghetts. With this EP, Sheeran gained mainstream attention for reaching number 2 in the iTunes chart, without any promotion or label.

Sheeran broke through commercially in June 2011, when his debut single "The A Team" debuted at No.3 on the UK chart and he's now signed to Atlantic Records.

He and his producer and co-writer Jake Gosling have been wearing and supporting THTC T-shirts over the last few months. Check Jake's Twitter, MySpace and record company Sticky Management.
